The Optimist Club of Avon was founded in 1959
by a group of volunteers who wanted to have a community
sports program for the children of Avon. The A.J.A.A.
grew from this project. Today the Club continues to support
sports in Avon along with our educational programs and financial assistance to
several community groups. Our most recent project is an Internet Safety program for children and adults, organized by Optimist International.
You may have been to our big fund-raiser, the Fish Fry, held for many years at the Township Park
and recently moved to US 36 in front of Wal-Mart. We - and the kids of Avon - really appreciate your
patronage, and look forward to seeing you again!
The Avon Optimist Club is proud to celebrate our tradition of service and looking ahead to the future.
New projects become time-honored customs, and more new things are created as needs arise.
