Congratulations to the Lady Orioles!!
We were happy to recognize the
Avon High School Girls Varsity volleyball team at our meeting on November 19th. The Lady Orioles are the
Sectional Champs this year. Thirteen team members and three coaches attended. The girls introduced themselves and talked about
what grade they are in, what position they play, and where they plan on attending college.
Club President Paul Grant and Program Chair Carolyn Moench gave certificates of appreciation to each of the girls present.
The other team members’ certificates will be presented to them at school.
The Optimist International Youth Appreciation Program allows Optimist Clubs to recognize young people for a variety of reasons,
including their achievements at school, dedication to community service, improvement in their grades and doing their best in sports or the arts.
We want kids to know that their efforts and hard work really do make a difference!
