A Cookout Dinner
Respect for Law Camp is a program of the Indiana State Police, for children in 5th and 6th grades
who are interested in "...an exciting, up-close look at law enforcement and the criminal justice system."
The campers get to stay in the dorm rooms, and interact with staff and troopers during safety programs,
demonstrations, and physical activities. The Indiana Optimists co-sponsor these camps, and different businesses and organizations help out too.
We sponsor a picnic dinner for the camp at the University of Indianapolis.
On Friday we cook up hot dogs and hamburgers along with chips, dessert, and lemonade and water to drink.
This is a great program; there are also camps for older kids. If you would like to learn more, or your child would like to participate,
go to the Indiana State Police
Youth Camps website.
